Why MPACT
Human services systems exist to support people and families—but too often, the systems, policies, and practices designed to help can unintentionally leave families navigating complexity rather than experiencing partnership. MPACT exists to help change that.
We work alongside organizations, practitioners, communities, and families to build more person-centered human services systems—systems that recognize people’s strengths, honor lived experience, address barriers, and put greater power in the hands of families to define what progress looks like for themselves.
MPACT carries forward the same mission, vision, and person-centered approaches that have shaped Sankofa Leadership from the beginning. This isn’t a new mission. It’s the same mission with greater reach.
What MPACT Does
MPACT partners with human services organizations, public agencies, community organizations, practitioners, and families to strengthen the way systems support people.
Our work includes person-centered leadership, care and coaching; family-centered coaching and collaboration; learning and leadership development; organizational and systems transformation; technical assistance and implementation support; community engagement; and the development and testing of new approaches that address gaps in human services.
Whether we’re working with one organization or across an entire community, the goal remains the same: help build systems that work with people and families, not simply for them.
Why We Removed the “I”
There’s something intentionally missing from MPACT. The “I.”
Because meaningful transformation has never been about what I can accomplish. It’s about we. Families and practitioners. Leaders and communities. Organizations and partners. People bringing different experiences, strengths, resources, and perspectives together to create something none of us could create alone. That’s why we removed the “I” from IMPACT.
MPACT represents our belief that lasting change is something we create together—and that the people most affected by systems should have power in shaping them.
